Heavenly Father,
On this Election Day, we come before You with thankful hearts. You are the sovereign Lord over every nation and every county. You raise up leaders and set them down according to Your purposes. We acknowledge that all authority rests ultimately in Your hands.
Thank You for the gift of self-government and for the freedom we still enjoy to choose those who will serve our communities. Thank You for the men and women who work the polls, count the ballots, and guard the integrity of the process. Protect them and give them strength for the long hours ahead.
Grant wisdom to every voter across Tennessee today. Quiet the noise of fear, anger, and division. Help us cast our ballots with clear minds and clean consciences, seeking the good of our neighbors rather than the triumph of any faction. Let us remember that we will answer to You for how we exercise this stewardship.
We ask for leaders who fear God more than the opinions of men. Raise up those who love justice, defend the vulnerable, speak truth, and govern with humility. Give them courage to do what is right even when it is costly. Guard their hearts from pride, greed, and the temptation to use power for personal gain.
Bring peace to our communities. Soften hard hearts. Heal the wounds of bitterness and mistrust that so often follow elections. Teach us to disagree without hatred and to remain brothers and sisters even when our ballots differ.
Above all, keep our eyes fixed on You. Remind us that no earthly election can secure the kingdom that will never be shaken. Whether the outcomes please us or disappoint us, help us trust Your providence and continue to walk in faithfulness.
We pray these things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
